Changes to our River Permits:
Active from Season Start March 3rd 2022:
As and from the beginning of this year, fishing season March 3rd 2022 the FULL river permit will cost £65.00, This includes full membership for both summer and grayling seasons. This also includes access to fish our waters at the river Usk and Brecon Beacons Reservoir.
The permit can ONLY be obtained from this website or at our Clubroom on a Wednesday night from 7:30 – 9:30.
You will still be able to obtain a £10.00 day Ticket on this site and also in our physical sales locations at:
Ospreys Clubroom
Albion Cafe, Cilfynydd, Pontypridd.
Garry Evans, Whitchurch Rd, Cardiff.
Cafe Royale, 4 High St, Pontypridd.
Post Office/Spar, Central Square, Trallwn, Pontypridd
Please come and join us at the Clubroom every Wednesday night from 7:30pm to 9:30pm for some fly tying and some general fishing chat. We also run Club Competitions each year consisting of 5 boat and 5 bank events, We look forward to seeing you!
River Fishing Guidelines:
- Game Fishing
The season runs from 3rd March to 30th September and catch and release is recommended using barbless hooks, however if required 2 trout may be kept per day, but must be over 10” (measured from nose to fork of tail). Spinning is permitted provided that all hooks are de-barbed. Please note that in accordance with the latest NRW Bye-laws (previously known as the Environmental Agency) all salmon and sea-trout must be returned.
- Grayling Fishing
Fly Fishing for Grayling on stretches of the Taff, Rhondda, and Cynon shown overleaf is permitted between 1st October and 28th February.

Annual visits are arranged to Garry Evans shop. other events can be found on our event calendar page.
Club
Members can also participate in the National Trials and other Competitions arranged by WSTAA such as the National Bank Championship and the Molly Sweet & Will Half Moon if they return.
